It's something I've always wanted to learn how to do. Years ago, when I was still a child, my grandmother did show me how to crochet two knitted squares together. I remember the occasion like it was yesterday, but do not remember the technique at all. Typical! I do remember how to knit though, simple garter stitch and stocking stitch, and that is due to her guidance.
I would just love to be able to crochet something like this, that I blogged here:

Maybe one day. Now, step one: figure out some BASICS. Any tips?

No tips but if you make me one of those rugs I will give you a lot of money.
Amen Erin! I want one TOOO!!!! My tip would be relax your hand -that you hold your yarn with- the easiest way to get uneaven stitches is too much/too little tension. I'm an advanced beginner? and I am trying to teach my kiddos. Hard stuff! I just learned how to do a no-chain foundation row too! I was so proud of myself! I'm your newest stalker.... erm, follower! ;-D
